Multiple Sclerosis Diagnosis?

Numbness and pain in my extremities. Head, neck and back pain. Fatigue. Vertigo. Trouble focusing vision. All kinds of testing and still no sure diagnosis that it's MS. My doctor says MS can take years to diagnose, but I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this. Has anyone else had these symptoms for a long time before MS is certain?
